Frequently Asked Questions
How does the AI analysis work?
ArtDecode's AI analyzes visual elements, textures, compositions, and artistic techniques across all mediums — from paintings and sculptures to ceramics, metalwork, and woodcraft. Depending on the role you choose, it explains how to recreate the work, places it in its art-historical context, or gives feedback on your own piece.
What are the Art Teacher, Art Analyst and Art Mentor?
They are the three roles you can choose for each analysis. The Art Teacher shows how to recreate an artwork: techniques, tools, materials, colors and a step-by-step guide. The Art Analyst gives an art-historical breakdown: formal analysis, interpretation, period, influences and iconography. The Art Mentor reviews your own work in progress and gives feedback, priority fixes and a plan for your next session.
What will I get from an analysis?
Depending on the role: the techniques, tools and materials used, the artistic style and movement, a step-by-step creation process and tips to recreate similar effects (Teacher); an art-historical interpretation (Analyst); or constructive feedback with next steps on your own work (Mentor).
Can I get feedback on my own artwork?
Yes. Upload your work in progress and choose the Art Mentor. You get a first impression, what's working, priority fixes with concrete things to try, scores across six areas (composition, color, value and contrast, form and drawing, technique, expression) and a focus for your next session. The scores are guidance from an AI reviewer, not a grade.
Can I share my Mentor feedback?
Yes. You can create a public link to a Mentor analysis. Sharing is available on all plans, including the free one. Anyone with the link can view the analysis and your image without an account. You can stop sharing at any time, which disables the link. Shared pages are not indexed by search engines.
What types of artwork can I analyze?
Paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, pottery, metalwork, woodcraft, textiles, digital art, mixed media, and more across all historical periods and styles.
Is ArtDecode free to use?
Registered users receive 2 free analyses per week. Subscribers to the Annual Plan unlock a 3-day unlimited free trial. Paid plans start at CHF 10/month or CHF 45/year for unlimited analyses.
